Some of these activities include conformation showing, agility, rally, herding, obedience, tracking, lure coursing for both Purebred dogs and Mixed breeds supporting the AKC Canine Partner Program (to learn more about these events and how you can get involved check out our ?Activities? tab above)
The Buckhorn Valley Kennel Club was established on October 17, 1966 as the Northern Colorado Kennel Club. The Club held its first fun match on November 20, 1966. The name of the club was changed in March of 1968 to Buckhorn Valley Kennel Club. The Buckhorn Valley Kennel Club (BVKC) has since held numerous events that have promoted its objectives and continues to thrive today.
Our Objectives Are:

To further the advancement of all breeds of dogs.

To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of all breeds of dogs and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials and events.

To conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows, obedience trials, and other performance events under the rules of The American Kennel Club.

The kennel club welcomes all canine owners and future canine owners to join and fully enjoy the ownership of a canine.
We Are Committed To:

Providing dog-related leadership in Larimer County.

Member and public education activities including: breeder referral, school outreach programs, training classes and mentor programs.

Promote responsible dog ownership.

Conduct and support activities such as shows, matches, exhibitions and trials.

Provide a knowledgeable, recognized presence, and resource in the community.

Educate the community about canine awareness.

Promote the growth of canine awareness thru children and schools within the community.
